My inquiry into the fields of psychology and philosophy began as an odd and inquisitive youth. Both understanding what makes a person who they are, and what makes up the lives they live, allowed me to explore questions about the nature of the self, the meanings to be found in existence, and the paths to making the most of a life limited by time. These questions led me to formal academic study in psychology, and continued additional study in philosophy. Particular areas of interest include: depth and individual psychology, personality theory, formal logic, moral philosophy, epistemology, metaphysics, and spirituality.
My Life Coaching education has given me strategies for integrating the psychological and philosophical with the practical, turning deep insights into tangible outcomes for my clients.
In addition, my experience as a personal trainer has brought me to work with many different minds and bodies, including persons with physical disabilities, mental health struggles, and other special needs. I enjoy personalizing fitness programming to accommodate unique individuals.
And after over a decade of training busy clients at big-box and boutique gyms, I’ve come to view the notion that one must “go to the gym” to be healthy as misleading and needlessly complicating the fitness training process, inspiring me to focus on minimalist methods that allow great fitness training sessions without any compromise.
I am also a huge nerd of films and comic books, especially anything involving superheroes, which are the inspiration for my study and practice, all in pursuit of reaching human mental, physical, and moral potential.
About Paul Bruce
The philosophy guiding Intelligent Design coaching centers on the principle of intentionality in complex design, and this extends both to you as an individual, as well as the coaching process.
You are a multifaceted and impossibly unique individual. In all the time that has come before you, and in all that will come after you, there will be no one with your exact design, and both yourself and the world deserve to experience that unique design you have been given. The primary goal of Intelligent Design coaching is to find creative ways to bring that design forth fully.
As we bring forth more of your true self, it is my hope that you will go on to contribute to the world in the way only you can. In my experience helping clients hone both their mental and physical capabilities through Life Coaching and Fitness Training, the greatest predictor of success is finding a motivation beyond the self. You have much to give, and through our coaching work together, you will come to touch all those around you with the gifts only you have to offer, and I believe this is the recipe for a meaningful life.
The coaching process is done with intention and specificity. Both in Life Coaching and Fitness Training, there will be a constant consideration of both who you are and what you wish to develop within you. There is no generic course of action, for at every step your current needs and goals will be accounted for.
The coaching program is here to fit you; never the other way around.
Intelligent Design Coaching offers two streams: Life Coaching and Fitness Training. This is intentional.
You may struggle with progressing your life when your physical condition limits your energy and capacity for taking on pressing obstacles. Fitness Training can help you develop your strength and discover new energy that make you more resilient to what arises.
But while improving physical fitness has many readily apparent benefits, the true problems you are facing may not be resolved at this level. Life Coaching allows a deeper examination into the possible root causes for your current struggle with personal progress, and aims to address these at the source.
Honing both the mind and body, and achieving harmony between them, has the potential to facilitate a greater progress than either alone.
